Artmania offers fun and exciting art classes for children and adults making it the perfect choice for your next party. Our Studio in the heart of West Vancouver’s beautiful Dundarave Village provides a wonderfully creative setting. But, if you choose, we will bring the Artmania experience to you. We have a selection of parties to choose from; printmaking, wacky crush t-shirts, funky sculptures, cool screen-printed bags and more.
One of our most popular Children’s Parties is gelatin monoprinting. Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that has images or lines that can only be made once (unlike most printmaking, where there are multiple originals). Gelatin printing is a form of monoprinting in which a gelatin slab is used as a printing ‘plate’ in conjunction with standard printing inks to create images. No printing press is required and very little pressure is needed to make the prints.
A very thin layer of ink is gently and evenly rolled onto the gelatin plate. A textured object is placed on top of the inked plate. Your piece of paper (that will become your work of art!) is gently pressed on the gelatin plate. Peel the paper off to reveal the negative image on the paper. This process may be repeated with different coloured inks and results in beautiful imagery worthy of framing.
We include a frame with your finished art pieces in a pretty blue bag for you to take home at the end of your party.
