Watercolour, Drawing Skills and Pen and Ink

Think drawing is a gift that has to come naturally? Drawing is a skill that can be developed with practice. In this  drawing course, you’ll learn how to draw with proper techniques, discovering how to represent what you see through studies in contour drawing, perspective, positive/negative space, and value. With feedback from one of our expert artmania instructors, you will improve your drawing and develop a deeper understanding of any subject you are trying to capture as an artist.

We will learn about some of the great watercolourists Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, Raoul Duffy, Alexander Calder and Joseph Turner. Discover how Turner used to have himself tied to the mast of a ship during a storm so he could feel the weather, painting later in his studio what he saw and felt in the middle of the storm.

Students will go on field trips to the Dundarave beach and learn the skills needed to use water colour and pen and Ink. Sketch and paint your experience of the beautiful landscape around us.

Students will combine their new drawing skills to create a fun, one of a kind creative art piece.
